Fall in Yosemite: El Capitan

This icon of Yosemite takes on a special glow in the fall. I caught this sparkling view on my (more or less) annual autumn Yosemite hike. It was one of those brilliant Indian summer days, the air full of that unmistakable feeling of fall. I thought how nice it would be to “plein-air” my way along the trail. But my common sense took over. I realized that if I did that, I would eventually be hiking in the dark! So I reverted to photography, and this piece was done from one of those photos.
